Sophia 04:01
It's funny to person, She said while holding your chin up, And hurting is fine if it's real, Fine if it's real, It's fine if it's real, It's fine to swing like trees in the wind From left to right and back, 'Cause the party is yet to begin, It's yet to begin, The party is yet to begin, And hurting is fine if it's real, Fine if it's real, It's fine if it's real, It's fine. When she sings And the moves the makes Seems to remind of silence For the way she calms you down, A parade runs through my veins. And she smiles And the fears you have Vanish into kaleidoscopes That spin around you. The plans we have made, The times we have failed, I'm glad you understand That when the devil knocks at your door, You open the door, There's nothing else you can do but the things that help making you feel You're one, Unmistakeable one, 'Cause the party is yet to begin, Yet to begin, The party is yet to begin. And hurting is fine if it's real, Fine if it's real, It's fine if it's real, It's fine. When she sings And the moves the makes Seems to remind of silence For the way she calms you down, A parade runs through my veins. And she smiles And the fears you have Vanish into kaleidoscopes That spin around and move around you.

On And Off 04:37
What are we fighting for? What's the point of this? I thought that life was playing When I was a kid. What are you fighting for? What am I doing here? I thought that life was dreaming When I turned sixteen. On and off, Days revealed the real me On and off, Changing what I thought I'd need On and off, I'm reviewing my history On and off... What are you fighting for? Am I still on my feet? I thought my life was blooming When I was twenty-three. On and off, Days revealed the real me On and off, Changing what I did believe On and off, I'm reviewing my history On and off...

Worried 04:11
The more I try The more I fail The more I'm sinking the more I move The more I'm still I'm rather worried The more I deal with my own shit The more I'm starving. They say it's time to figure out A way of living They say it's time to buy a house I'm rather worried They say it's time to find a friend, To raise a baby, Get a chance... Suddenly life is like a burden, Suddenly folks you're rather worried Saturday night I dance with strangers, When I wake up I'm rather worried. The more they tell me I should care The more I'm careless And when I thought I found a friend I danced with strangers They say it's time to figure out To raise a baby, buy a house... Suddenly life is like a burden, Suddenly folks you're rather worried Saturday night I dance with strangers, When I wake up I'm rather worried.

Silver Lake 04:55
La la la la la la... Where did I go when you were here? Why did you leave when I was near? Would you please walk me home, tonight? Coming back to Silver Lake I can hear your serenade All those promises that you made With this water slipped away Twenty-five years went by so fast, Funny the way we build our nest, Are you calling it home, today? La la la la la la... All those promises that you made With this water slipped away.

about

TOY SONG is a music collaboration between Marta (Kathmandu), Dario (Amsterdam) and Riccardo (London). The three musicians met during a summer trip and found a common ground sharing the experience of the "quarter life crisis". The "Quarter Life Crisis" EP' songs have been written in few rehearsals and recorded in Amsterdam only few months later. The sound of the band is unique for the unusual line-up without a bass player: the drummer Riccardo is playing simultaneously both the drums and the bass synth. The melodies and arrangements draw inspiration from the sound of the British indie-folk with a psychedelic touch and artists like BigThief, Yo La Tengo and Cate Le Bon. The lyrics are about the challenges of dealing with the increasing social pressures and the difficulty to remain faithful to your own dreams and ideals as the years go by.
